Finding a veterinarian for your four-legged family member is as important as finding a good family physician. And, just like humans have annual physical exams, so too should our pets.
Preventative checkups are just that – they help to prevent issues with our pets before they become a problem. At East Valley Animal Hospital, we conduct wellness exams when your pet isn’t sick so we can take a look at the overall status of your pet’s health.
When your pet visits our clinic for a wellness exam, one of the first things we’ll do is check the teeth. Teeth can be a big indicator of something happening within your pet’s body. During the exam, we’ll also discuss which vaccines we recommend, along with heartworm and flea and tick prevention. Taking a proactive approach to ward off these issues can help your pet avoid potential problems in the future.
Throughout the exam, we welcome questions from pet owners. Communication is a large part of our practice. And, prevention is a priority for us. We know it can lead to both a happy pet and owner. That’s why we like to discuss everything from health and nutrition to exercise, sleep habits and brushing teeth. We encourage you to write down any questions you might have so we can address them during your visit.
There are other benefits to preventative care, too. Preventative care can not only help protect your pet from illness and disease, it will help reduce the cost of your pet’s care throughout its life. Fewer visits to the veterinarian mean less money spent.
In addition to wellness exams, we offer a range of services including:
- Monthly preventative care plans
- Dental care
- Emergency and urgent care
- Laser therapy
- Ultrasound
